It didn't! I have just seen it and it seems to work fine, Pleased about
that - at least I've got something to go on now.

Yes, I think that was the problem, I was looking for the familiar (from 6
and 7) opengl1.x stuff

OK, I see. Trying it, I found that it's not documented as such, but it
redirects to the JDD page, which - as far as I understand - is a generic J
front to all sorts of databases, including ODBC. I assume that *somehow*
it also supports sqlite, I'll have to read up some more, the jdd
description seems a bit patchy.

OK. Maybe an acknowledgement of this in the wiki and a pointer to ddsqlite
or other appropriate site would be helpful. The thing is that Google
searches tend to point one to the older stuff, you have no way of knowing
about the newer until you start rummaging around quite deeply.

So thanks again for all the pointers, I'm happier now than I was, however I
can't help wondering what could be done to improve things. The support on
the mailing list is phenomenal, but if there was some sort of "News Update"
perhaps a "Progress Blog" or something, it might strain the (otherwise most
helpful) old hands a bit less if they don't have to answer silly questions
like mine. I haven't got something definite in mind, this is just a bit of
a shot in the dark, but I have noticed that many other language dev-teams
have something of that sort,

Enjoy!
