I know of one verb u for which it is true that u"u may produce a different result from u by itself.  (u"u means u applied at the rank of u, and [x] (u -: u"u) y would be a tautology except for this u.)

What is the u?  Note that I am interested only in the results of u and u"u, not any side effects that might result from applying other operators to u.
