If bla is a verb, that should not give an error.

If bla bla is some arbitrary sequence which generates a noun, that should give 
a domain error (since there's no x).

If I supply nouns for both x and y, I get a syntax error.

If I define d as a noun, I do get a length error. But since there is an 
unbalanced right parenthesis by that d, I don't think I can take this much 
further without some kind of explanation about what data you are working with 
and/or what you expect this to accomplish.
