Yes in general it lacks a breakout to the general file finder. If your
system does not fit in the pigeon hole imagined by FiF you are out of
luck in using that tool and have to use a more general system finder
tool. The fixed categories "in Folders" lacks flexibility. Perhaps
there needs to be another tab which supports finding patterns in
"data", which can be anywhere. Most of the stuff "in context" would no
longer be applicable. Indeed individuals may have J files mixed in
with data, in the data's directory (such as i do). Something totally
unsupported by FiF. i like the way one is able to specify search
problems in FiF, but the lack of choice on where to look really
hamstrings it.
