My ideas definitly involve avoid package upgrades as much as possible, and adding new packages as necessary. E.g. I don't want to have an upgraded version of linux-image-2.6-amd64, but add appropriate "new" metapackages. This helps us in the technical sense that we don't stay in the way of other point-releases, helps our users that they are not affected as less as possible unless they *want* an newer kernel, and last not least reduces discussions as well.
