Hello,

My name is Tolosano on Framasoft's Forums (the famous french-speaking
website on Free and OpenSource Softwares) and I contribute to the
project, called Veni, Vidi, Libri
(http://wiki.framasoft.info/Projets/VeniVidiLibri).

NOTE : Veni, Vidi, Libri speaks about free as in Libre Software.

Aims of this project are to promote Free Licenses and make it easier
for developpers to change their license to free one.

The project search in particular to contact "propietary" developpers
in order to

* expose them Free Licenses advantages (and inconveniences), that's to
say inform them ;
* put them in relationship with Framasoft's community, through Forums,
in order to meet and exchange with users ;
* help and follow them in the differents steps of releasing their
software in an Free license ; and moreover understand the reasons why
they refuse to do it ;
* and to lavish right advices on maintain their projects, and give
them differents ways to get new users and contributors.

For this project, we wish propose several issues for developpers, and
propose them concrete ways in order to get new contributors.

Collaborative software development management systems represent a real
advantage and offer lots of services, like a powerful network, in
order to make it smoother to get visible and reactive project.

This is why we wish to ask you some questions, actually we want
present each collaborative system, and define it specifically.

We informe you that all the project release under GNU FDL license.

We began to define the system itself (but available only in french,
for the moment) http://wiki.framasoft.info/VeniVidiLibri/Plateformes
: Plateformes de développement collaboratif.

Here it is the first questions, which are general ones :

- When was born Gna ?
- What is the goal of this project ?
- What is the Philosophy of Gna ?
- What is the ''raison d'ĂȘtre'', the essential purpose of Gna in
comparison of others collaborative systems ?
- How many people take part to Gna's project ? (administrators, holders...) ?
- How many projects are registered on Gna ?
- How shall you explain to a developper interests to join a
collaborative system ? And Gna particularly ?
- Are some requisite points on registering on Gna ? If so, what are they ?
- What is the average lead time to register a project on Gna ?
- How to register ?

We have also some technical questions relating to Gna's offers :
- Authorized Languages for hosted projects (english, german, french,
spannish...)
- Disk storage,
- Support Languages (PHP4, PHP5, Perl, Python, etc...),
- Forum available,
- Number and type of dataBase available (MySQL, PostGreSQL),
- Number of Email accounts and aliases,
- Domain registration,
- Managing FTP,
- Managing DNS,
- Stats.

Obviously, you got all the time to answer. We are (me and others
collaborators of the project) available if you have any questions
about this interview or our project.

To conclude, I invite you to complete this interview by adding all the
questions I may have forgot, and that you'll judge interessant to give
an answer.

Thank you for having paid attention to this mail. I hope you will
answer. Please feel free to give us your impressions about this mail
or our project.

Best regards,

Tolosano
