Title: top moz

For me as windows user SVN would be really nice as only a small learning curve (I have TortoiseCVS and TortoiseSVN and they both behave very similar). TortioseSVN is probably the easiest version control front end I have ever used.

Just FYI, has anyone considered Bazaar? Also, it'd be nice to upgrade the CVS to SVN. The new schemes that could be possible:
https://svn.mozdev.org/svnroot/(project)
https://(project).mozdev.org/svn/
https://(project).svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/(project)

I think migrating projects from CVS to SVN would be great.

I think, we don't really need SVN, If we already offer Hg to projects. But for the development of mozdev.org website itself, we should have a modern system like Hg or SVN.

I suspect that is copied-and-pasted from an old bug. We've had Hg available to projects for a year or two now. Do you think we should also offer SVN also?

There is a  task for source control admin, in the note it says "there is a discussion on moving to
a more modern system (such as SVN or Hg)".
Can someone kindly explaing which component are we moving off to CVS?

Michael is right about moving the mozdev source code itself off of CVS: it's integrated with an old publishing system called Hovercraft. I don't know the details, but do know this was examined before and estimated to take a lot of time.

Michael: your blog post is really cool! I didn't know you could wrap Git around CVS!

The website control won't change soon afaict. But you can do it
yourself. See it in action here:

http://aboutconfig.mozdev.org/git/

(The graphiclog would need some shifting downwards, I know.)
It requires some acquaintance with git and git cvsimport. The following
may get you started:
