FYI, I cleaned up the Chrono::Gpu demos. Note that I also made some name changes (e.g., that demo_GPU_terrainBox_SMC is now called demo_GPU_soilBin).
As for your question about simulating wheel-soil interaction, you should look at the Chrono::Vehicle co-simulation framework and the various associated demos (demo_VEH_Cosim_***).
