I am not sure that it is as simple as this - I have two subscriptions with
PEDA. Only one gets spam the other gets none. I do not take any great
efforts to shield from the spammers (except on usenet when I do some
masking). I usually post to PEDA using the personality (account) that does
*not* (currently) get spam. So if the spammers are using the PEDA archive
on yahoo or something like that then why do I not receive spam on both
accounts? Only my oldest account receives spam.
So where does this leave it?
As an aside, I am not receiving very much spam from any .au domain, in fact
I can't recall any. Almost all of my spam has no top level domain - so
maybe it is simply a bit of reverse cultural imperialism (throws grenade
over battlements and sits back and watches) directed to US users...
