Out of curiosity, what is the typical textbook stackup for a six-layer board? Do you typically have two signal, two power, two ground planes, or can you have, say, three signals layers and two power and one ground plane? i.e.

1. signal
2. gnd
3. pwr
4. signal
5. pwr
6. signal

The scheme I have used for the few times 6 layers became necessary was :
1. digital signal Horizontal routing
2. digital signal Vertical routing
3. power with serpentine plane splits as needed
4. ground solid plane
5. sensitive analog signal Horiz.
6. sensitive analog signal Vert.

This worked out well, and solved a number of problems with the previous prototype, which
had a lot of crosstalk from the digital to the analog signals, which didn't have their own
"quiet side" of the board.
