I can't easily explain software compatibility here. Suffice it to say that
you should follow the developers' guidelines for software versions and
operating system versions to make sure you're not going to run into problems.
Pro Tools is compatible with OS X 10.6.7 until further notice—simply put.

It won't be a year but it may be a couple of months. The best thing to do
is to keep an eye on Avid's site for information about compatibility. You can
sign up for their email list which will inform you of such developments.
