I install a Plantronics w440 for client to use on their DAWs with speech. This
way you have the option of dedicating speech to the Plantronics wireless
headset, giving you a professional look freedom using a wireless FM system, and
privacy.

system

They should be able to work at the same time with no issues providing the OS
does not use the Pro Tools hardware for playback. Often, people set up their
computers to categorically use one hardware device for all system sounds
including applications. In the Audio/MIDI Setup utility, select the Pro tools
device that is being used for the HDX system, go to the pop-up menu and uncheck
the option that says something like "Use this device for system sounds."

voiceover utility and changed the output to the internal outputs and tried all
outputs when pro tools is launched but with no luck. My teacher was telling me
headphones would be nice but there is no real easy method to connect them to
the headphone jack of the mac system in the studio. What other methods can
anyone suggest for voiceover to work when both pro tools is running and not
running as I am ok with using headphones but it would be nice if there could be
a method for both pro tools and voiceover to work at once? Nick Gawronski
