Ho... understood. This new Mac Pro's all comes with Xeon i5.
I am really thinking to get the 6-core 3,5 with 16 gig ram, 256 gig store,
super ridicullus so f fast! grin .
Since it seems that Pro Tools 11 is much more efficient for multi-core processor.

Hi Rui,

Clock speed is not the only factor. The processor type and generation
matters. Don't pay attention only to the GHz value. Given the same processor
type and generation then, yes, the faster clock speed will be faster. I'm
not sure if the two models you mentioned were from the same release period.
At any rate, The fastest current model you can afford is usually the best
way to go, especially if you're running a host-based system and not HD and
I'm assuming that to be true in your case.

Well, 6-core is in did faster then , I suppose.
My doubt is how much Pro Tools demands of core quantitys?
3.7 is more then 3.5 GHZ, doesnt this mean something when we are talking
about DAW?
Just question, thanks,

Hi Rui,

Welcome to the list. Most people would suggest getting the latest and
fastest Mac you can afford and max out the RAM. Avid does usually
"approve" specific Mac models but pretty much just about every Mac ends up
being approved, especially the desktop machines these days. More
importantly, Yosemite has not been approved officially and there are some
minor issues but I'd imagine those will get sorted out soon.

Best,

Slau
