That did the trick, Slau. Thank you! That's exactly what I was doing wrong. I didn't realize I had to put those templates in their own sub folder within Track Presets.
The article Bryan sent states you can put them in the main presets folder, but that if down the road you want to move them you can. I guess I was under the impression that moving them into their own folder categories like that was simply for nothing more than file management organization. I didn't understand that it actually made the difference in PT seeing it or not. I apologize for the confusion. All's working now. Slau and others, but especially Slau: You need to put the template files within yet another folder within the Track Presets folder. For example, you might create a folder called Pre-Fader Sends and drop that template in there. When you create a new track, in the track type pop-up menu, one of the items in the list will be "Pre-Fader Sends." When you select that option, a second pop-up list will appear to the right and any templates located in that folder will show up in that second pop-up list. You might create templates for virtual instrument tracks with plug-ins already instantiated. All of those templates can reside in a folder you might call Virtual Instruments or whatever. Same goes with putting it in Documents/ProTools/Track Presets Neither one is working. The file has a .PTXT extension. Did I maybe save it wrong?
