well thanks anyway Slau. for the record i have now upgraded to High sierra. all is good. but my num pad issue still remains. i have no idea what i’ve done but if anyone has any ideas here is what i find. when i hit v o K to bring up voice over help. the num pad keys give me voice over functions. for example Star takes me to the desk top. minus takes me to the voice over help. just to add to the fun flo tools now does not work at all. So any ideas would be very helpful. I have re installed flo tools to no avail. i’m probably missing something. Steve
