Depends on purpose. Live performance, strictly studio, mic for instruments, Drums. Several types of mic’s I know of. Ribbon- strictly studio and delicate some what fragile but great sound. Condenser- This mic is phantom powered and come in come in small and large diaphragm types. Dynamic- good all around mic for live performance and studio work including micing instruments and vocals. There may be other mic types I am forgetting or are unfamiliar with. In any event many manufacturers making lots of mics. So pic your budget $99 to $8 or 9 thousand. Narrow things down for the list and someone might have good recommendations for your purpose and budget.
