I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on the pro tools rig that I am trying to put together. I already have a mac pro 5 mid 2012 with 12 cores of 3.46 ghz and 64gb of memory. I am looking for recommendations on what control surface and audio interface to buy. Particularly with the audio interface, I need something that I can run at the highest bit depth and sample rate (preferably at least 96khz( and lowest buffer size with as close to 0 latency as possible. A clean preamp would be nice as well with out having to purchase a separate unit, but feel free to recommend one if you have a favorite. As you can tell by my computer I am ok with shopping in the used market if there was a solution like this. My goal is to be able to act as a mix engineer and producer for clients depending on there needs at as high of a level of professionalism as possible. My problem is that I don’t have a recently deceased rich aunt, so pro tools ultimate and an HDX set up is not a possibility for me right now. I’d like to get close. I am new to mac, and especially to pro tools so if there is something I’ve missed in my research feel free to point it out. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
