Conflict in threading libraries

Dear all,   I am extending the Jabber Server, which makes use of gnu pth. When I want to use Oracle ProC api to access the database, which makes use of pthread lib, a conflict results which will crash the server, and one will crash the other, depending on the order of initialisation.   Is there anyway to get around this problem other than writing a daemon for Oracle ProC to service the database request? Any advise or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.   Paul
