We have most of our communication system models in Matlab. We mapped one
such system in Ptolemy and ran the simulation with profiling to compare the
simulation time taken by each. The results obtained, prove Ptolemy to be
considerably slow!!
The system we used for comparison is implemented in DE domain with SDF
embedded in it (wormholes). The results obtained are same, but ptolemy is 9
times slower initially and as the number of samples to be processed
increases, the difference is reduced to about 2 times. Both the simulations
are run till a fixed number of data samples are processed (that is set to
the same number for both the systems).
If any of you have carried out similar comparison tests with Matlab, we'll
be glad if you can share your results ...
