It has just been announced that the National Science Foundation has selected Berkeley to lead a major new initiative in hybrid and embedded software systems. This is part of the NSF information technology research (ITR) initiative, and it will bring $13 million in the next five years to Berkeley and its partner institutions (Vanderbilt University and Memphis).
