you guys could sure have some fun with all that gear! unwire some parks, schools, etc.
skypilot is pretty easy for setting up hot zones with the 11a backhaul built in, but you really need line of site for it to work. The skypilot gear is also somewhat vulnerable and can be brought down if duplicate IPs or Ethernet loops occur within the mesh. ty ----- Original Message ----- From: "Christopher Chen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 09, 2008 6:32 PM Subject: [ptp-general] Re: If the City seizes and removes MetroFi's gear... > > Do you think there's enough just to deploy around certain city parks? > > cc > > On Thu, Oct 9, 2008 at 3:24 PM, Thomas Fitzgerald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: >> >> Too bad they chose such crappy gear, we might have been able to use it. >> >> Tom >> >> Michael Weinberg wrote: >>> As I'm sure many of you have read, it looks as if the City of Portland >>> will find itself the owner of 600+ SkyPilots and an assortment of >>> backhaul equipment, come April, when MetroFi's network will be forfeit >>> based on Oregon law.
