No need to send the machine back for fitting.  The battery compartment is 
fully accessible by anyone with 2 working fingers,  sighted or blind 
alike.

No, David, it isn't, especially when we have no idea really how long these
batteries are going to last!  So are we saying that at present even the 
RNIB
can't get batteries and so we have to send for them, or do we even have to
return the machines for fitting?

Clarification on this point is really needed, please, before my battery
gives out!
