Hi Sharon,
I had the same thing happen to the program when I installed in on my
computer. I called IRTI and they told me that it had to do something with
the speach synthasizer on the PRT program and the Microsoft Natural speach
synthasizers, that comes with windows, conflicting with one another. IRTI
makes a patch that overlooks the Microsoft synthasizers so that the program
can run smoothly. I'm not sure if this is the problem you are running into
but it sounds like the same thing I encountered. If you like I can send you
the patch on CD or even post it on my FTP site for downloading, or you can
try calling IRTI to see what they think.
Good luck,
Raquel
