Hi Sharon, If you can not even open the program cause it comes up with the error message before fully launching, then it will not be possible for you to turn off the speech for PTR. All you have to do is install the patch that I will be getting for you and it should fix the whole thing. I totally agree though that it is much easier for you to use the program once it starts working without it's synthesizer. When all this is resolved I would suggest disabling the PTR synthesizer and just using your regular speech synthesizer instead.
