J,

The fact that you are able to hear the sound coming out from the computer
suggests to me that you are not plugged into the correct jack point on the
computer. You should be plugged into the headphones socket I think.

The other thing that you should check is that the recording level is OK. If
the unit is saying Low, it is probably because the sound is not coming
through the cable at all. Once you are sure that the physical connection is
OK, then you should be able to adjust the recording level reliably until it
says "Good".

Hope this helps.

Jamie

Subject: Recording Question

HI all,

Something is bugging the heck out of me and I can't figure it out. Before I
fry my mb or sound card...

What do I need to do to record from my computer to the PTR1?

I have plugged in the cable that comes with the ptr1 from my computer's out
jack to the line in jack on the ptr which is the third jack from bottom up
on the left side of the ptr1.

When I try to record I get audio coming out from my computer's speakers but
I don't get anything going into the ptr1. The ptr1 just says low, low, low,
but the sound coming out of my computer speakers is loud. What am I doing
wrong? Thanks.

J Garcia
