Thanks Andrew, it did take a little messing with all the different computer
speaker and PTR1 volume/sound settings but I figured it out. One strange
thing was that when I tried to plug in the ptr1 to the speaker jack in the
back of my computer I heard a spark like crackling static sound. hope my
hard drive or other electronic parts didn't become damaged. I'm still under
warranttee so I'll be alright.

Hi,

Ensure that in the mixer in Windows you have the line out volume not set
to mute and that you have it set to a reasonable value. You then need
to sync the two values - i.e, mixer out on the computer to the recording
volume on the PTR1 so you have it saying good all the time. The monitor
volume may also be of help here - plug in the speakers or headphones
into the headphone out jack on the PTR1, and up the monitor dial to a
comfortable listening value like 10, (do this by pressing the recording
level dial in and moving the dial upwoards), then you can hear the sound
coming through the PTR1 and you can here whether or not it is distorted.
After you do this, play about with the volume settings until you are
satisfied with the output sound coming through the PTR1, then start
recording.

Andrew.

Subject: Recording Question

HI all,

Something is bugging the heck out of me and I can't figure it out.
Before I fry my mb or sound card...

What do I need to do to record from my computer to the PTR1?

I have plugged in the cable that comes with the ptr1 from my computer's
out jack to the line in jack on the ptr which is the third jack from
bottom up on the left side of the ptr1.

When I try to record I get audio coming out from my computer's speakers
but I don't get anything going into the ptr1. The ptr1 just says low,
low, low, but the sound coming out of my computer speakers is loud. What
am I doing wrong? Thanks.
