John, check the size of your Toshiba drive on your PC, you may see that it is less than 5GB in size. The 2GB PTR1 limitation, is not so much a limitation on the amount of disk space PTR1 can use, but rather a single file size limitation and an error in disk usage reporting. So, the max file size on PTR1 is 2GB, and if there is more than 2GB of free space on the Toshiba drive, PTR1 will still tell you you have only 2GB of free space. But if you keep adding books on the drive, you will see that PTR1 can address all free space on disk. The June firmware release will address the reporting problem, but I am not sure if it can fix the max file size limitation, as that is a FAT32 design constraint.

Guido, Toshiba made a 5GB micro drive on a PC card. They're a bit hard to find these days but I did manage to purchase one. I think I found mine at www.gooddealpc.com for about $150. My understanding is that the current PTR1 firmware (or rather my currently installed PTR1 firmware wich is 1.12) can only access 2GB of this drive but that the upcoming June release will fix this problem. Toshiba has some 10 and 20GB 1.8 inch drives, but they are sold only as OEM products, for imbedding into portable devices. You can't purchase one and stick it into PTR1.
