That is what I use it for that was the main reason I bought it, because I
wanted to put some old records on CD.  I don't use it for books because I
have braille note.  This is the only machine that a blind person for
recording CD.  I have a Philips CD recorder in my sterio and it is not user
friendly for a blind person.  My brother says it isn't user friendly for the
sighted ei.  Also recordings sound alful.  When you copy a CD on the Philips
the sound drops tremendously.  I have done lots of recording with the PTR1
and it sounds wonderful.  My friends Aoll love the CDs recordings that I
have made for them.  They sound so good in their cars.  So you can't really
say you cant use the PTR1 for recording CD's.  Linda Reeder
