I have never tried taking it to a live preformance. I know that when you use the patch cord that came with the machin and hook it to your sterio it comes up in sterio. The build in mike on the PTRA much not pick up in sterio. That is ingeresting, because if you took a regular cassette recorger to a performance it would come out in sterio. I know this to be true because when I take the regular cassette recorder to church when our quior sings it comes out in sterio.. I wonder why the PTRA doesn't. Linda Reeder
