Hi,

This button is slightly larger than the other buttons, and has a pressure switch in
the middle - that is, the pressure senser is in the middle of the button. If you were
to press on the edge, there is a small chance you don't trip the switch. However, I
would think that to be very unlikely unless you have a particular way of ``pressing''
the button. Also, with the unit off, try just firmly pressing the button to ensure
that the button is true in the unit. I have seen similar style buttons getting
slightly clogged up, meaning they press less effectively.

Hope this helps,
Andrew.

Subject: record key trouble

Hi, this is Steve. I got my PTR1 last September, and noticed that the record
button was less responsive than I wanted it to be, but now it's even more of
a problem. Could it be that I am using that button so much, and what do I
do? It doesn't always engage when I press it. That's such an important
button to me. I hope I haven't been to heavy handed in using this key, but I
feel it would be the most vulnerable key for this, out of anticipation, and
wanting exact timing. Can this be repaired? Thank you.
