Yesterday I sent out an email telling that the judges in the High Court of Australia had struck out the Magna Carta and that they had declared that the Federal Parliament decides when a citizen will be allowed to have a jury. Is everyone brain-dead? Does anyone realize that they have lost their right to trial by jury - a right which was granted by Magna Carta in 1215 and is still guarantied under section 80 of the Australian Constitution ..... and yet, those judges (appointed by the Queen on the recommendation of the Prime Minister) have just overthrown those charters and every other piece of law down through the centuries which protect such rights and protect us against tyranny? Thomas Jefferson said "I consider that trial by jury is the only anchor yet imagined by man which can hold a government to the prinicples of its constitution.".... and, there are many, many other quotes testifying to the fact that trial by jury is "the safeguard of liberty". Any right-thinking, half-way intelligent, man or woman with a feeling for justice and with the desire to protect not only their heritage but the future of their country, themselves and their children, should be outraged. What lame excuse for Australians are people who can let this happen? The judges in the High Court have just made you slaves. What is the response? Bugger all! It is said that Apathy is the silent blessing of evil. This is more than apathy. This is unbelievable stupidity. What of the sacrifices of men and women who fought and died for freedom? Australians couldn't give a stuff! It's too much trouble. Wake up! This is the moment to turn and fight.
