There is indeed no *proof* of authorship here, but a statement that the signer is willing to assume the blame for being the widget's author. Which is all we need, no?" As for me author is just some distinguished entity. That's all and nothing more. I think we should not try to specify in the W3C spec that the author takes the responsibility for what the widget does. It could be legally binding. Is this what we really want? Thanks.
