Issue #2331 has been updated by John Axel Eriksson.

Priority changed from Normal to High
Estimated time set to 1.00
Affected version changed from 0.25.0rc1 to 0.25.1

This is still not fixed in puppet 0.25.1. This means basically that the
darwinport provider is broken since it cannot install anything. It should be
really simple to fix, I've looked at it myself and it seems trivial, I'm no
ruby expert though unfortunately though I hope to be one...

Bug #2331: darwinports "install" broken
http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2331

Author: asa -
Status: Needs design decision
Priority: High
Assigned to: Nigel Kersten
Category: OSX
Target version:
Affected version: 0.25.1
Keywords: darwinports, macports
Branch:

looks like the darwinport provider is not able to "install" on osx leopard.
ports tries "port update" instead of "port install" when first installing a
package. Seems that macports Version: 1.710 has this issue.
