Issue #4146 has been updated by James Turnbull.

So they won't be named spaced. If they get plugin-synced you'll just be able to 
do:

nagios_type { "blah": etc }

My concern is twofold - migration path for users (I think this functionality is 
used by a lot of our community) and whether we can pull the other pieces 
(Naginator) out of core at the same time:

lib/puppet/util/nagios_maker.rb
lib/puppet/external/nagios.rb and lib/puppet/external/nagios/*
