But indeed, I don't known if they are good opensource implementation of HA nfs. When I had my nexenta zfs san, I was using iscsi. The only problem was the number of luns exposed on hosts, because I had all luns of all vms on alls hosts. (so between 500-700luns), and multipath daemon was cpu crazy. ----- Mail original ----- De: "datanom.net" <m...@datanom.net> À: "pve-devel" <pve-devel@pve.proxmox.com> Envoyé: Mercredi 12 Octobre 2016 07:44:25 Objet: Re: [pve-devel] LXC volumes on ZFS over iSCSI On Wed, 12 Oct 2016 05:41:26 +0200 (CEST) Alexandre DERUMIER <aderum...@odiso.com> wrote: > > Well, this is very dependent of nfs server implementation quality. > I'm running vm on netapp san though nfs 4.1, and I have very good > performance. > netapp is a purpose build NFS based storage appliance with their own customized NFS server so netapp is an exception to the rule. > I think the biggest problem is lack of fstrim/discard. The hard locking is the part which can bring any server down if the nfs server connection hangs in any way. Add to that that it is very difficult to make a high available NFS server since client locks are stored in kernel mode. -- Hilsen/Regards Michael Rasmussen Get my public GnuPG keys: michael <at> rasmussen <dot> cc http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xD3C9A00E mir <at> datanom <dot> net http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xE501F51C mir <at> miras <dot> org http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xE3E80917 -------------------------------------------------------------- /usr/games/fortune -es says: Most people need some of their problems to help take their mind off some of the others. _______________________________________________ pve-devel mailing list pve-devel@pve.proxmox.com http://pve.proxmox.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pve-devel _______________________________________________ pve-devel mailing list pve-devel@pve.proxmox.com http://pve.proxmox.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pve-devel
