Hi David,

I will let RobL handle this. I would guess that you did not use the matching version of the Linux headers.

As for determining which gcc (for future reference since it does not seem to be your problem), try:

$ dmesg | grep gcc

or, if that fails:

# grep gcc /var/log/messages

I'll goolge that, see if anything come up.
GCC Version is:
gcc version 4.1.1 20060525 (Red Hat 4.1.1-1)

Subject: Re: [Pvfs2-users] pvfs2.ko - invalid module on fedora core 5

Hi David,

I have seen this on another project when the configure uses a
different gcc than what was used to compile the kernel. Does dmesg
have anything about loading pvfs2.ko?

Hello,

I've build PVFS2 on Fedora Core 5 but can't seem to get the kernel
module to build correctly.

I've tried with a fresh kernel source tree and a fresh copy of the
PVFS2 source but I still get the following error:

insmod: error inserting '/lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp/kernel/
fs/pvfs2/pvfs2.ko': -1 Invalid module format

Has anyone got this to work on a FC5 build with an FC5 kernel?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Dave.
