Hi Scott/Chris, As you suggested, it was the fact that the module was compiled against the wrong source tree. After using the correct source tree I'm now able to insmod the pvfs2.ko module! & lsmod show the module loaded.
Thanks so much for your assistance. All the best Dave. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Halstead [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 25 January 2007 16:21 To: David Whitehouse Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Pvfs2-users] pvfs2.ko - invalid module on fedora core 5 Hi Dave, I was just going to mention that you should re-confirm matches between the running kernel and the installed kernel source. The other thing to keep in mind is that the different kernel flavors (smp, UP, xen, bigmem, etc.) all have distinct -devel packages that go with them, so make sure you have the right one. If you normally run an SMP kernel you want kernel-smp-devel, not kernel-devel.
