Approximately two, actually.
First, I'm setting up a suite of several swikis for a variety of
password-protected projects. While I've admin'ed everything to be
password-protected (including docs, refs, imged and forward) with the
built-in admin interface, I'd like have the default page served
(http://mysite.com) be a blank one, not a list of the swikis
"available" and a search form.
Yes, I see that the question has been asked in the archives of this
mailing list, and also on the Swiki swiki. Unless I'm missing
something, it sits there still and quiet.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. All I really need is for any
public mention and/or script-kiddie handle to these wikis (or
Commanche) to go away entirely. Paranoid consulting customers are
involved.
Second, I'm still having trouble with the latest, best and brightest
download of the Mac image (literally 2 days old) not doing email
alerts correctly. As advised by what I've overheard on this list,
I've checked the SMTP settings, email addresses, and in fact executed
the canonical "Hello from Squeak" test code with perfect success. But
no email ever gets sent, and no transcript lines are added, when I
Save an edit of a swiki page with an email address included in the
appropriate edit field.
This is ComSwiki 1.0 for the Mac. More info on demand, as long as you
tell me where to look for the numbers.
If somebody could point me in the direction of the SMTPSocket.st code
(if I need that), I can file it in.
Sounds like I know what I'm doing, don't I -- don't be fooled. I'm a
suit [the worst: CEO], so please treat me as an idiot n
non-Smalltalker of the hobbyist flavor when answering.
Best regards, and thanks much for having this software as great as it
already is,
Bill Tozier
