Nice work! It works find on Linux, and I completed a few levels. It's fairly complete, with menu and options, which is nice.
My suggestion is that "escape" should behave differently. If you are inside a menu, "escape" should return to the previous menu (instead of "backspace"). If you are on the main menu, then "escape" should exit. Does that make sense? I was confused at first because I didn't know about "backspace".
