+1 for moving onwards to Python 3.
Cons: with Six we need to drop support for python 2.2 and 2.3.

+1. Python 2.4 was released in 2004, this is seven years ago. AFAIK all major Linux distros are at 2.5 at least.

Further: PyInstaller is meant for packaging self contained packages, which is (almost) independent of the system it should be run on. So only the development environments count. If somebody used e.g. Python 2.2 and successfully packages his/her program, her/she can simply stay with the current version of PyInstaller.
