Hi again,

So I have rechecked the problem and have more details. What happens when
one double clicks the file, or drags and drops it to pymol icon or uses
open with...is still the smae ie pymol begins to open then crashes! It
attempts to open and the the standard microsoft error appears:

"pymol.exe

pymol.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience.....

Please tell microsoft about this problem"

and you can send an automated message to them with error reports.

Just wanted to see if others are seeing this error and if there is a
good fix. I can open up the file from within pymol and still looks nice
and glossy as a presentation so there is a work around atleast.

Hope this is enough specifics. I can send mcrosoft error messages/psw
files if needed.

Cheers
Joel

We'll need specifics in order to be helpful. As an initial guess, I'd say
that the PSW file type may not be correctly bound to PyMOL on those other
machines.
Try right clicking on the icon -> Open With..., and then choose
pymolwin.exe. You may need to browse to "\program files\delano
scientific\pymol" to find it.

An alternative approach is to drop the PSW file on the PyMOLWin.exe icon.

Cheers,
Warren

Subject: [PyMOL] Scene function

Hi folks,

Firstly the scene functions are really cool and will be invaluable for teaching. I have a minor glitch though. On two other PC's (not mine which works fine, XP, pack 2) the psw file comes up with an error (ie microsoft error message blah blah blah, Don't send) and doesn't do what its supposed to when you double click on this ie open (or use the hyperlink from powerpoint).

It does however work when you open the file from within pymol but doesn't go full screen but opens just like a .pse file.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Regards

Joel
