PySide should compile as-is on Python 2.7, so in that sense, support is present. On the other hand, I'm not sure whether anyone in the dev team uses Python 2.7 yet (Hugo might). Probably most are just waiting for their favourite distributions to integrate Python 2.7.
Just out of curiosity: what's the use-case in which Python 2.7 is usable but 2.6 is not?
