If they're out of scope of Sivan's initiative, they still could (and
should) be documented elsewhere. Again, we have a basic set of
examples at [1] but more verbose examples would be very useful.

Would be extremely useful, indeed. Carlos Goncalves has some OS X
packages prepared but they aren't yet linked to the downloads page. I
also remember having heard about fink packages - I wonder what their
status is.

On Windows side, there's just the experimental package. We're planning
on improving that already in our next release (late this week or early
next week, most likely), but since none of the core team members are
Windows users, we're super-grateful of any assistance on that front
too!

That's a hairy one, though - or at least needs to be limited to
specific platforms. If you're just interested on Maemo (or
Debian-based Linux distributions), there are already some applicable
packaging instructions available at [2]. Again, I agree we're doing a
bad job linking to all available documentation.
