Compiling with gcc -shared -fpic -o /tmp/dlmalloc.so ./Modules/_ctypes/libffi/src/dlmalloc.c Then LD_PRELOAD=/tmp/dlmalloc.so ./python works just fine (and by the way, it solves the problem with glibc's version in #11849, it's somewhat slower though).
