Terry J. Reedy added the comment: OK: call GetUserCfgDir once on creation of idleConf instance and set .userdir attribute. Replace repeated calls in PyShell and Editor with attributes accesses. I tested that, with patch, IDLE starts and rewrites both breakpoints.lst and recent-files.lst as appropriate.
