Benjamin, can I fix this bug before you tag 3.1.2 ?
Basically, I'll apply on 3.1 what was applied on 2.6 :

Then, after you have tagged 3.1, I will revert distutils in py3 branch so it's
back to 3.1 state then frozen, like what I am doing for 2.7.
