Can't you revert the changes for the moment, and add them to jira?

A simple misjudgement shouldn't delay a version years in the making.
While such a change does sound simple, any change has to be tested
(and it's the simple stuff that really gets you).

I understand entirely why you would want to support Nokia this way. A
revert and a patch I think would be a good way to rectify the
situation. (Unless there are rules forbidding such action that I am
unaware of.)
