Integrated teams are the mandatory order of the day, because getting the necessary fuel economy requires paying close attention to body design. Vehicles where the designer runs rampant over the look are getting rarer, and will continue to do so as long as governments continue to tighten fuel economy standards (and to a lesser degree, safety standards).
