Your exemplar however is ironic

What everyone calls window it calls frame; what everyone calls pane it calls
window because its legacy from pre-gui days

What everyone calls Alt it calls Meta and shortens it to “M-” because the Sun 
workstations that have been dead 20 years had a Meta-key
