It's being worked out. :)

It was originally for C-lang, as in C language, similar to Go-lang or
Julia-lang etc. but of as you say it is more or less occupied by the
front-end. Haven't decided yet whether it's a good or a bad thing, as Clang
is also for the C-language family of languages and was the compiler I was
about to suggest we use.
